Summer 2024 is Cardigan Arts diamond anniversary celebrating sixty years of continuous local commitment to the arts with exhibitions, talks, workshops and, in a first for the society, a collaboration with Aberystwyth School of Art on the project, ‘In the Spirit of Place.’ This project will culminate in a seven week exhibition beginning 1st July at the Aberystwyth School of Art Gallery as part of a series of exhibitions at the School’s galleries concerned with aspects of the nature of ‘place’ and human intervention in the landscape. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Dr Frederick Könekamp a well regarded international artist and founder of the Pembrokeshire based Cotllwyd group whose work is in the National Collection of Wales.
The exhibition will be opened by the Welsh painter Mary Lloyd Jones supported by Ben Lake MP.
This exhibition will be complimented by a Cardigan exhibition, ‘Diamonds‘, and events at the Cardigan Guildhall
